Here we go with episode 20! Lots to discuss on the start of a new year beginning with resolution. If Dry'uary is one of yours, here's a solid conversation starter. Next we'll play a new game called Pick Three, we get into the wear and tear or carbon bikes and if that's a thing, why there's an unwritten rule of bibs over shorts, and what's it like to ride lonely through these desolate winter months.
Per the conversation about Dry'uary, if you're interested in trying WHOOP, use Ted's code join.whoop.com/ted for a free WHOOP band and free first month!
We often talk about how awesome Cochrans Ski Area is. This Boston Globe article explains why it's not just another ski resort! https://www.bostonglobe.com/2025/01/07/magazine/cochrans-ski-area-beating-odds/

The holidays are upon us here in Thanksgiving week and the team catches up on all kinds of timely discussions. Strava has changed their API usage, which presents lots of challenges for seemingly every cycling app on the planet! There are changes at USACycling with a move for gravel nationals. This has been in Nebraska and they're moving to the Driftless region of Minnesota. We'll talk about what goes into the creation of an annual gravel calendar, plus lots more.

The Kings have some very exciting news: They were selected for the UCI Gravel World Championships by USA Cycling! So after having just returned from Europe, they're headed back for this race across Flanders, Belgium.
Stu has a new bike and is thrilled with its aerodynamacy as well as it's simplicity thanks to SRAM eTap.
Y'all submitted questions about tires. That plus much more on this exciting episode.

Labor Day weekend is in the rearview and that means late summer action is coming in hot! Stu is back to action at Fistful of Dirt in Wyoming, which is super exciting having spent most of the summer in rehab with a complicated, busted wing. The Kings logged Vermont Overland, Ted just completed the Green Mountain Stage Race, plus we tackle questions about maximizing ones results on minimal training, optimizing training without analytics of modern cycling, plus loads more.

Fresh back from a four week van trip followed immediately by a bike racing trip to Europe, the Kings have lots to talk about. This is Ted's first experience with UCI gravel, Laura has a terrific go at her women's elite race, all in hopes of qualifying for the UCI world championships. Meanwhile, Stu's recovery isn't yet complete, but it's at the point where he's ready to pin on a number at the upcoming Fistful of Dirt in Cody, WY.
International travel, the gravel arms race, what is each of our single races we would love to do forever, there's plenty to talk about in this fun episode.

On the heals of Nepomuk Narly and The Last Best Ride, the Kings check in from Montana to talk all things gravel cycling. Given that gravel cyclists come from all disciplines and backgrounds, why not talk about the Tour, the gravel stage at the Tour, the wet and wild Olympic time trials, plus the Olympic mountain bike races. Riveting stuff here as the "second half" of the season kicks into gear.
